Heavy duty automobile lift leader, Stertil-Koni, a brand of the Stertil Group, these days announced that its U.S. production facility, Stertil ALM, has bought a 4.five acre parcel adjacent to its existing manufacturing plant in Streator, Illinois. The acquisition will enable Stertil ALM to stay in Streator, make an investment for future development and additional expand production of Stertil-Koni’s award-winning heavy duty automobile lifts.

Commenting on the announcement, Streator Mayor Jimmie Lansford stated, “Stertil ALM is a main employer in Streator and the anticipated expansion is optimistic for the neighborhood.”

Stertil ALM intends to begin building on the new parcel in the spring of 2015 and comprehensive the expansion later in the year. Allan Pavlick, Vice President of Stertil ALM stated, “The improved acreage and production space allows the organization to preserve all the operations below a single roof. The expansion will let Stertil ALM to improve efficiency and productivity. In addition to the growth in the North American marketplace, Stertil ALM is exporting in-ground lift items worldwide.”

The added manufacturing space will mostly be committed to the fabrication and assembly of the Stertil-Koni DIAMOND LIFT, a full rise telescopic piston lift setting new standards in precision heavy duty lifting, and SKYLIFT—an “open floor” idea, true vertical-rise platform lift with no crossbeams, no overhang and no base frame.

Stertil ALM, currently a key employer in Streator, anticipates that the expansion will additional contribute to job creation in the region.

The expansion also comes on the heels of a number of recent enhancements to the existing facility, like an extra 14,000 square feet of production space added in 2011, such as a new training center. In addition, it represents the next phase of a main capital investment at the facility and in the production of Stertil-Koni automobile lifts.

Last year, Stertil ALM bought and brought online a new, world-class cutting machine that utilizes a combination of plasma and oxy-fuel torches coupled with a state-of-the-art Computer-primarily based, touch screen controller for really fast, high-precision manufacturing — a significant milestone in ALM’s strategic migration towards in-sourcing.

Stertil-ALM also bought and installed an added CNC machining center and a higher capacity overhead crane to its facility in 2014.
