DoMT Server Automates China Machine Translation for Professionals

Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) July 31, 2014

In 2006, the Moses SMT Toolkit was released under an open source license as academic research software. Now, Precision Translation Tools (PTTools), maker of the pioneering Do China Machine Translation Desktop (DoMT Desktop™) software, announces the release of DoMT Server™, a full-featured enterprise statistical machine translation (SMT) server for translation professionals for whom automated production of quality translations a competitive advantage.

Since its release, the Moses Toolkit has proven SMT is a viable localization technology. However, after years of academic development, Moses continues to lack essential features for commercial applications. Building commercial SMT production systems without these features is difficult and expensive.

DoMT Server is a robust enterprise server application with full-featured SMT capabilities. It automates SMT production in business environments with translation management systems (TMS) and computer-aided translation (CAT) tools. DoMT Server includes the functions and features missing from academic research software, without sacrificing the native components’ capabilities. By using DoMT Server, translation professionals significantly lower the cost of implementing and operating in-house SMT solutions.

“After considering the available implementations of the Moses SMT Toolkit, Welocalize chose to collaborate with PTTools to build our MT solution. The simplicity of DoMT’s extensible development environment drove our choice. The final server product was easily deployed and integrated into our globalization management platform. With a flexible and customizable end-to-end solution in place we can meet the MT requirements for our most demanding customer.” Olga Beregovaya – Welocalize Vice President of Language Tools. http://www.welocalize.com/wemt/

DoMT Server is more than a single-purpose translation server. It includes all the necessary tools to acquire, prepare and manage SMT training corpora; train, tune and manage SMT models; and deploy, manage and use translation engines for SMT production.

According to Tom Hoar, Managing Director of Precision Translation Tools, “DoMT Server significantly reduces the costs of in-house SMT production. Our customers leverage their existing technical and linguistic expertise and thus expand their competitive advantage without the distractions of converting academic research software to a commercial SMT platform.”

All of PTTools’ DoMT products give full control over all SMT processes to translation professionals, including freelance translators, small and large LSPs. DoMT products eliminate the security risks and ongoing subscription fees associated with cloud-based translation services. PTTools’ learning center teaches translation professionals how to use their existing skills, localization engineers, linguists and translation memories to generate quality translations and extend their competitive advantage.

China Milling China Machine

China Milling China Machine

A China milling machine is a tool found primarily in the metalworking industry. In general, these machines are used to shape solid products by eliminating excess material in order to form a finished product. China Milling machines can be used for a variety of complicated China cutting operations from slot China cutting, threading, routing, planing, and drilling.

A China milling machine is usually capable of China cutting a wide variety of metals, ranging from aluminium to stainless steel. Depending on the material being cut, the machine can be set to move at a faster or slower pace. Softer materials are generally milled at higher speeds while harder materials usually require slower speeds. In addition, harder materials often require smaller amounts of material to be milled off at one time.

Generally, a China milling machine operator runs the machine by feeding the material over a device called a China milling cutter. As the material is fed past the cutter, the cutters teeth slice through the material to form the desired shape. Using gadgets like precision ground slides and lead screws, the movement of the material as well as the cutter can be kept to less than 0.001 inches (about 0.025 millimetres) in order to make the cut exact.

In addition to a cutter, a typical mill machine contains a spindle axis, which is a device that holds the cutter in place. The cutter revolves around the spindle axis, and the axis can usually be adjusted to varying speeds. Most machines also come with a worktable that can be used to support and feed the material. The worktable generally moves in two directions, and most modern worktables are power-operated. Additionally, a modern China milling machine is typically equipped with a self-contained electric drive motor and a coolant system.

From micro, mini, and bench top to floor standing, large, and gigantic, a China milling machine can be found in a variety of sizes. China Milling machines can have flat, angular, curved, or irregular surfaces. In addition, they can have a vertical or a horizontal orientation. A vertical China milling machine has a spindle axis that faces vertically while a horizontal machines spindle faces horizontally.

Milling machinery can be operated manually or digitally using device called a computer numerical control or CNC China milling machine. In addition to the traditional X, Y, and Z-axes found in a manual machine, a China milling China CNC machine often contains one or two additional axes. These extra axes can allow for greater flexibility and more precision. China CNC machines eliminate the need for a machine operator, which can prevent possible accidents as well as save on labour costs.
