Acer America today announced the availability of its TravelMate P276 Series notebooks with large 17.3-inch displays and discrete graphics for professionals in Canada. The two new high-performance models are designed for commercial users requiring large screens as well as China cutting-edge power and performance in a mobile form factor.

Both TravelMate P276 models feature premium NVIDIA® GeForce® 840M graphics with 2GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM with the muscle for editing streaming video, creating collateral, programming websites and more. The TravelMate P276 line delivers faster boot times and ample storage space with a 128GB solid state drive (SSD), while additional storage is provided by a large 1TB 5400RPM hard drive.(2)

Two Models Available

Packed with a fast 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4510U processor (4MB L3 cache, 2.0GHz with TurboBoost up to 3.1GHz) and 16GB DDR3L SDRAM, the Acer TravelMate P276-MG-75N3 is built for those with the most demanding computing requirements, such as graphic designers, engineers, consultants and SOHO users. Prices for this model start at $ 1299 CAD.(3)

The Acer TravelMate P276-MG-52HH is a great fit for accountants, executives and event planners who view large spreadsheets as well as marketing professionals who compare documents side by side. This model is powered by an Intel® Core™ i5-4210U processor and 8GB DDR3L SDRAM that’s upgradeable to 16GB using two SODIMM modules. Prices for this model start at $ 899 CAD.(3)

Both Models: Practical Design and Technology

The Acer TravelMate P276’s 17.3-inch display boasts a HD+ 1600×900 resolution. It’s LED-backlit and delivers accurate color and consistent, crisp and clear images. ComfyView™ anti-glare technology enhances the view in a range of settings.

A spill-resistant keyboard protects the notebooks from accidents and an independent standard numeric keypad will fulfill the requirements for professionals in accounting and finance. The TravelMate P276 notebooks are also optimized for high-quality conference calls with a high-def 720p webcam as well as two built-in stereo speakers and a microphone supported by high-definition audio. Powered by a four cell battery, these notebooks provide up to 6.5 hours of life.(4)

The TravelMate P276 systems attach to external displays via HDMI and connect to networks via Intel® Centrino® Advanced –N 7260, 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN and Gigabit LAN. They’re also compatible with a wide range of peripherals and digital devices via Bluetooth® 4.0, a USB 3.0 port and two USB 2.0 ports.

A multi-gesture precision touchpad supports two-finger scroll and pinch as well as swipes across charms and application commands, making navigation smooth and easy. For added convenience, these notebooks have a SD card reader for uploading photos from cameras and an optical drive for burning and viewing DVDs.

Comprehensive Security and Manageability

Top notch security features protect organization’s investment in the Acer TravelMate P276 series. Acer ProShield Manager, a suite of essential security and manageability tools, prevents unauthorized access while safeguarding valuable assets and data. It provides pre-boot authentication and protects the notebooks from the BIOS all the way to the application level. Users can create a Personal Secure Drive (PSD) to seamlessly store and encrypt all critical files, ensuring that if the Acer TravelMate P276 is lost or stolen, the data cannot be accessed. Finally, it offers the automated solution to manage IT assets remotely. To help prevent theft, the Kensington lock enables the notebook to be secured to a desk.

Outfitted with Acer Office Manager (AOM), a manageability solution, IT managers can deploy security policies, monitor IT assets, and schedule maintenance tasks in one simple application. Manageability lowers the total cost of ownership by allowing IT professionals to easily service and upgrade many of the internal components.    

The Acer TravelMate P276 series notebooks will be available to customers with Windows® 7 Professional (64-bit) English/French with Windows 8.1 Professional (64-bit) dual-load in hidden partition.(1)

Acer professional notebooks are submitted to a series of reliability tests and are compliant with the most stringent industry criteria. EPEAT® Gold registered, the highest level of EPEAT registration available, the TravelMate P276 series notebooks meet all of EPEAT’s required criteria and at least 75 percent of EPEAT’s optional criteria. They’re also Energy Star® qualified.

Pricing and Warranty

The Acer TravelMate P276 series will be available this month in Canada from authorized Acer resellers. Estimated selling prices for the Acer TravelMate P276-MG-75N3 start at $ 1299 CAD and at $ 899 CAD for the Acer TravelMate P276-MG-52HH.(3)
