My friend and owner of this amazing piece of photographic engineering writes:
It was Leica’s 1st method camera with interchangeable lenses and a constructed in rangefinder.
Oskar Barnack should have been an outstanding style engineer who knew what he wanted to attain with his design principles and stuck to them.
Wonderful that this 80 year old, one hundred% mechanical camera is nonetheless operating today as Oskar intended.
No running out of batteries no freezing up in cold climate though apparently it has been reported that the films broke inside the camera at -30 degrees as they were also brittle when wound on at these really low temperatures.
